What was your one biggest PUNK move this year? Hmmm….the one that comes to mind is when I tried a recipe that my husband had been asking me to re-create for weeks. I do not measure, that is this PunkWife’s punk weakness. Oh, and I find it difficult to follow recipes, line by line, so I end up making my own version. This time my anti-measuring came back to nip me in the bud. My little naked raviolis looked delicious but one taste sent you diving for the water and wishing it were a fountain of Gatorade. Lessen learned: do not overestimate your ability to measure salt.
Our October PunkWife of the Month is a PunkWife contributor, new Texas resident, and brand spankin’ new homeowner, Liz! I am lucky to say that Liz has been a friend of mine since I was four years old. That may work for her or against her, your decision. But ultimately, she rocks. I am happy to not only call her my friend, but to have her as a new contributor on PunkWife. Take it away, Liz!
What makes you your own little version of Punk? One word: “Liz-isms”. This is the name given to my honest and true responses, interpretations and understandings to life. For example, take this and judge if you must: I once thought that limes turned into lemons, and argued this point profusely, I swear. I also once got drunk and proclaimed over and over that I was in Disneyland. There are so many more, but that’s my punk self.
What’s the best piece of advice you’ve ever received? From Grandma: “Don’t make the little things so important.”
Describe yourself in 3 words. Quirky, anxious, compassionate
Tell us your favorite go-to recipe and/or decor trick. My go-to recipe is “Mixed up salad and Paninis”. Take whatever is left in the fridge and make into these two things (I am trying to cook more ;))
Best home tip? A clean home is a happy home 🙂 No seriously, I am a first time home buyer as of last month and I can share this tip with you: if you have hardwood floors and drop something on them, use a marker any shade that will match your floor to conceal the chip. Voila! (I just dropped a picture frame on our new floors and nearly lost it until I remembered this trick).
