It’s time for our Favorite Finds of the Week! This week’s edition will make you laugh, cry, and get the most out of your phone with a wellness app. Oh yea, and there is an announcement snuck in there – let’s see who finds it first. Here we go…..
1. iPhone/Android App: FIG. I love trying different apps, but more often than not I wind up deleting them a month later after trying to remember what the heck I downloaded them for in the first place. But I found one recently that is a keeper, and that is Fig.
You use the app to set up goals for yourself from the many categories it provides, such as weight loss, strength building, immunity, holistic wellness, stress reduction, and happiness, just to name a few. Within those categories are activities like “breathe deeply,” “practice squats,” “journal,” “spend time in nature,” “eat protein” – you get the idea. It’s basically a personalized “to-do” list to nudge you toward the lifestyle you strive to lead. They even have a category for pregnancy, which these days, is pretty handy dandy for me. That’s right, this punkwife just snuck into her post that she will soon be a punkmomma 🙂
2. Dog attends church every day after owner dies. This article made me cry, in a good way, though (don’t worry, #3 here will make you crack up, I promise.) It was a great reminder of the loyalty and love of our pets. Ciccio, a German Shepherd in Italy, used to attend church with his owner every day. She died in November, but he still attends church every day since then. According to the article, the priest doesn’t have the heart to “shoo him away.” And who would?? It seems he has yet to find a home, although villagers feed him.
3. Trust fall fail. I realize this is terrible of me, but I just can’t stop laughing and replaying. This poor girl! You’re welcome.
And, if you’re still with me, a bonus bit to get your week started in the right frame of mind:
