This quick dinner, made up of frozen tuna steaks and a favorite marinade, meets all 3 standards for a great weeknight dinner:
Fancy looking? Check.
Okay okay, it doesn’t really need to be fancy looking. But with the nice weather and being able to eat al fresco again, it doesn’t hurt. It’s as simple as purchasing frozen tuna steaks from the grocery store, marinating them in a store-bought sauce, and tossing in some fresh sage for added flavor. I especially love this because you can buy the tuna whenever and keep it in the freezer until that night rolls around when you are lazy and don’t feel like going grocery shopping, but don’t feel like take-out, either. (Don’t get me wrong, mama loves her PF Chang’s, but one can only take in so much sodium before looking like a bloated Buddha with cankles.)
Serve this dish up with some steamed broccoli on the side, and you have yourself a meal.
2 frozen tuna steaks
1 bottle marinade of choice (I recommend the one on the right – Stonewall Kitchen’s Vidalia Onion Fig Sauce – it is delish!!!)
a handful of fresh sage (or other herb)
1 package frozen broccoli
2 cloves garlic, thinly sliced (optional, for the broccoli)
crushed red pepper (optional, for the broccoli)
