As I ordered my coffee this morning, I chuckled to myself and thought: Well, this better be good – it may be my last one. That’s of course if I believe the “Mayan prophecy” that tomorrow we will see the end of the world. Anyone a bit uneasy about this prediction? When I first heard it about two years ago, I’ll admit it made me a little nervous. But now? I’m pretty confident I’ll be enjoying that cup of coffee tomorrow morning, too.
The Mayans themselves don’t seem to be worried much about this – in fact, they believe that tomorrow does not signify the “end of the world,” but the end of a World Age. This means that this time instead will bring a transition from one world age to another, and it’s up to us to choose whether we enter this new time with resistance or acceptance. Our choice will determine whether the change will be rough and turbulent, or gradual and peaceful. I don’t know about you, but I prefer the latter.
I believe – and hope – that tomorrow will bring a time of change and spiritual enlightenment. I really do wish that it helps us to calm down, focus on the important things in life, and stop acting like cracked-out pin balls smashing into each other inside of a giant blue and green floating machine. Plus, I wrote a book that is being released at the beginning of 2013, and I really want to share with all of you. (But it would be just my luck if the world ends tomorrow and this never happens.)
So, what are your plans for 2013? What are your thoughts on tomorrow? Are you having an “end of the world” party tonight? Tell me in the comments.
